🏛️ The Legend of Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal
Scandal was launched in 2017 and instantly became a symbol of bold, modern femininity. The composition was created by perfumers Daphné Bugey, Fabrice Pellegrin and Christophe Raynaud. They were inspired by the idea of a woman who lives by her own rules, is not afraid to be different and turns life into a celebration.
🌸 The fragrance pyramid. Top notes are blood orange and mandarin. The heart is honey, gardenia, orange blossom, jasmine and peach. The base is patchouli, beeswax, caramel and licorice. The fragrance belongs to the chypre-floral group with a gourmand twist, although some retailers classify it as oriental-floral. 🎬 The faces of the campaign. The face of the original 2017 campaign was Hungarian model Vanessa Axente, who played the dual heroine «Madame Minister», a minister by day, a troublemaker by night. In the 2023 campaign the face was Moroccan-Egyptian-Dutch model Imaan Hammam. For the Scandal à Paris flanker (2019) the face was Irina Shayk. Vanessa Paradis collaborated with Gaultier but in a different campaign, Classique, not Scandal.
