Women's Perfume Essens W151 — a Fragrance Inspired by Carolina Herrera Good Girl
A floral gourmand fragrance — bold, seductive and incredibly attractive
🏛️ The Legend of Carolina Herrera Good Girl
This fragrance was launched in 2016 and instantly became an icon of modern perfumery. It was created by two perfumers, Irene Farmigetti and Véronique Nyberg. The inspiration was the dual nature of a woman, gentle and bold, daytime and nighttime, a good girl and a femme fatale.
🌸 The fragrance pyramid. Top notes are bitter almond, bergamot and lemon. The heart is tuberose, orchid and jasmine. The base is tonka bean, cocoa, patchouli and sandalwood. Cocoa here is not sweet but specifically dark chocolate, which supports the «good/bad» contrast. And creamy tuberose with orchid and jasmine creates that dense floral heart for which the fragrance is loved.
👠 The bottle. The shoe bottle was not created personally by Carolina Herrera but by designer Tom Ling from the Pulse agency, which specializes in perfume bottle design for Puig, the owner of Carolina Herrera. Carolina Herrera is the brand’s creative director but not the bottle designer. This design has become one of the most recognizable in modern perfumery.
🎬 The face of the campaign. The face of the campaign became supermodel Carly Kloss, whose image perfectly embodied the spirit of the fragrance.
🏆 The award. Good Girl received the FiFi Award in 2017 in the «Fragrance of the Year, Women’s Luxury» category. This is an important marker confirming that the fragrance was not just a commercial hit but a recognized industry event.
How it sounds and wears. «Almond cookies with tuberose and dark chocolate» is a recognizable description. The start is bittersweet-citrus, with almond and bergamot. In the heart is dense, creamy tuberose with orchid and jasmine. The base is warm, gourmand, with dark cocoa, tonka bean and patchouli. Longevity 8–10 hours, powerful sillage. Fragrantica rating is 3.65 out of 5 with 41,000+ votes.
⏳ The line. Good Girl has spawned an extensive series of flankers. Good Girl Gone Bad (2018, with raspberry and tuberose), Good Girl Supreme (2020, with bergamot and tuberose), Good Girl Gorgeous (2023, with patchouli and oud), Good Girl Cassis (2024, with black currant). The 2016 original remains the reference point.
📖 The Story of Four Notes
Almond — a bitter-sweet note with warm sharpness. In perfumery it sounds appetizing and intriguing, adding depth and character to the composition. It is what makes the opening of the fragrance so rich and memorable.
Tuberose — the queen of floral notes. Its creamy, sensual aroma with a hint of exoticism creates a feeling of luxury and femininity. In the heart of the composition it sounds especially captivating.
Tonka Bean — a warm spice with a vanilla-almond nuance. In the base it gives the fragrance softness, comfort and an enveloping sweetness that stays with you for a long time.
Cocoa — a bitter chocolate note. In the base it adds depth and sensuality to the composition, and together with amber it creates that warm, attractive trail that is impossible to forget.
👤 The Woman of W151
She is the embodiment of a modern woman. Confident, seductive and knows her worth. By day she is an elegant lady, by night a bold temptress. Her presence is impossible not to notice: a passionate gaze, a slight smile, natural attractiveness.
Evening dresses, high heels, deep colors and gold jewelry suit her. She loves attention, luxury and is not afraid to be different. Her style is a balance between tenderness and boldness, between a "good girl" and a femme fatale.
Essens W151 stays with her all day: in the morning it opens with almond, green notes and pepper; during the day it reveals a floral heart with lily of the valley, jasmine and tuberose; in the evening it warms with tonka bean, cocoa and amber. This is a companion fragrance for those who value a bright yet noble presentation.

💡 How to Use
- Moisturize your skin before applying. On dry skin, the fragrance fades faster than on moisturized skin.
- Apply to pulse points — wrists, neck behind the ears, inner elbows. The skin is warmer there, so the scent develops more actively.
- Do not rub after applying. This destroys the molecules and shortens the life of the fragrance.
- Keep the bottle in a dark place. Light and heat break down the composition.
- Add a drop to your hair or scarf. Fabric holds the scent longer than skin.
- Store the bottle properly — tightly closed, away from windows and radiators.
⚠️ Precautions
- For external use only.
- Before first use, perform a patch test on a small area of skin (inner wrist).
- Do not apply to damaged or irritated skin.
- Avoid contact with eyes. If contact occurs, rinse with water.
- Discontinue use if an allergic reaction occurs.
- Keep out of reach of children and away from fire sources.
- Contains allergens — the list is indicated in the composition. Individual intolerance is possible.
