Roses Musk by Montale is a modern classic of niche perfumery, created by the French house of Montale. The fragrance was launched in 2009 and quickly became a cult hit in niche perfumery, winning over connoisseurs around the world. The Montale brand was founded in 2003, but Roses Musk appeared six years later.
🌸 The fragrance pyramid. The official pyramid is extremely laconic, one of the most minimalist in niche perfumery. The top note is Bulgarian or Nepalese rose. The heart is jasmine and musk. The base is musk and amber, in some sources also raspberry. Saffron is not present in the original composition, although in our dupe W158 it is included and adds a spicy spark. It is precisely in this simplicity that the power of the fragrance lies, there is nothing superfluous here, only rose, musk and jasmine.
👤 Pierre Montale, the man of mystery. Pierre Montale is extremely private, he does not photograph, does not give interviews and does not appear in public. Until 2017, when the corner in TSUM opened, his face was practically unknown. Before creating Montale, he lived for several years in Saudi Arabia, where he created individual fragrances for royal families. Returning to Paris in 2003, he set the goal of introducing the Western world to oud, agarwood. The entire debut line was built around the oud accord. In 2008 he founded a second brand — Mancera, positioned as a lighter alternative to Montale. The creative director of Mancera since 2017 is his daughter Amélie.
