Women's Perfume Essens W102 — a Fragrance Inspired by Lanvin Éclat d'Arpège
A floral-green fragrance — radiant, airy and delicately spring-like
🏛️ The Legend of Lanvin Éclat d'Arpège
The story of Éclat d'Arpège begins long before 2002. Back in 1927, Jeanne Lanvin, one of the most influential figures of French fashion, created the fragrance Arpege and dedicated it to her only daughter, Marie-Blanche. Marie-Blanche was an opera singer and personally chose a musical name for the perfume — "arpeggio", the rippling sound of notes played one after another. That is how a musical term became forever woven into the history of perfumery.
The original Arpege contained more than sixty floral components and was never discontinued — it was only reformulated, remaining a symbol of the house of Lanvin. And in 2002, to mark its 75th anniversary, a new, younger and brighter interpretation appeared. It was named Éclat d'Arpège, where the word "éclat" is a noun meaning "shine, radiance, dazzle". The name thus became "The Radiance of Arpeggio" — a metaphor in which the fragrance unfolds gradually, note by note, like an arpeggio on the piano.
The composition was created by perfumer Karine Dubreuil-Sereni. She worked on the formula for nine months, striving for that very transparent, airy lightness that distinguishes this fragrance from the classic Arpege. If the 1927 original was dedicated to Jeanne Lanvin's daughter, then Éclat, as critics have aptly noted, "could be worn by her great-granddaughter" — it sounds that much younger and lighter.
The bottle is recognizable and elegant. Its round form in a lilac hue is adorned with a golden medallion depicting Jeanne Lanvin and her daughter, the same logo as on the original Arpege of 1927. Over two decades, Éclat d'Arpège has produced around fifteen flankers, but the 2002 original remains beyond competition.
📖 The Story of Four Notes
Osmanthus — a flower that in China is called "the scent that penetrates the soul". Its tiny golden buds open in autumn and smell simultaneously of apricot, mandarin peel and tea. In perfumery, osmanthus is valued for its ability to give a composition velvety depth.
Wisteria — a vine with cascades of lilac flowers that blooms for only two weeks a year. In Japan it is called "fuji", and festivals are held to admire its flowering. In perfumery, wisteria sounds languid and sweet, with a light honeyed nuance.
Green Tea — a note that came into perfumery from the Japanese tea ceremony. Fresh, slightly herbal, with barely perceptible bitterness. In W102 it works as an invisible frame: you do not always notice it, but without it the fragrance would lose its lightness.
Peach Blossom — a symbol of tenderness and spring renewal. In China it is called the "flower of immortality" and is believed to bring good luck. In the fragrance, peach sounds soft and velvety, adding delicate juiciness to the composition.
👤 The Woman of W102
She does not shout about herself, yet she is remembered. She chooses lightness over heaviness, light over brightness. Her morning begins with a cup of green tea and an open window, even if the city lies beyond it.
She can be anyone — a student, a mother, a director. But she shares one common trait: she values beauty in small things. For her, fragrance is not just a smell but a mood. Calm, clear, springlike.
Essens W102 suits her any day. On Monday it helps her gather herself. On Friday it adds lightness. On a day off it turns an ordinary walk into a small celebration.

💡 How to Use
- Moisturize your skin before applying. On dry skin, the fragrance fades faster than on moisturized skin.
- Apply to pulse points — wrists, neck behind the ears, inner elbows. The skin is warmer there, so the scent develops more actively.
- Do not rub after applying. This destroys the molecules and shortens the life of the fragrance.
- Keep the bottle in a dark place. Light and heat break down the composition.
- Add a drop to your hair or scarf. Fabric holds the scent longer than skin.
- Store the bottle properly — tightly closed, away from windows and radiators.
⚠️ Precautions
- For external use only.
- Before first use, perform a patch test on a small area of skin (inner wrist).
- Do not apply to damaged or irritated skin.
- Avoid contact with eyes. If contact occurs, rinse with water.
- Discontinue use if an allergic reaction occurs.
- Keep out of reach of children and away from fire sources.
- Contains allergens — the list is indicated in the composition. Individual intolerance is possible.
